On Friday, at The Boston Drum Circle (DrumConnection's 20 year running drumming circle), we had about 70 drummers descend at our shop in Arlington, MA!
It was like the old days... drummers, dancers, lighting, effects and really cool and HOT drumming. Here is a shot of the circle before the 20 other gals showed up! Next on is Friday, February 17th at 7:00pm. Bring a drum, use one of ours. Just don't miss it!

Learn all the sounds of this ancient instrument from the forest area of Guinea!
7PM - 9PM at DrumConnection, Arlington, MA
For ALL drummers and beginners too. All welcome! It’s FUN! No experience necessary and experts welcome, as well.
A few times a year we break out the Krins and show people the wooden log instrument that contains the tone, slap and timing strokes that we now play on the djembe. Many of the traditional rhythms that we play on the djembe originated on the Krin! The Krin is played with 2 thin sticks in a seated position, usually on the ground. We will experiment with the Krin on stands, the ground and our laps!
Starting a basic rhythm, we will learn how to play what we normally learn on the djembe on the Krin! This inclused accompaniment patterns as well as arrangements and, most importantly, SOLO EXPRESSIONS for which the Krin is noted for. Alan will focus a good amount of time on rolls in tones and slaps on the Krin for SOLO! This will help your understanding of ROLLS in general and it will all apply to the djembe. We could call this a ROLLS CLASS!
Please bring a recorder and maybe a pen and paper. And your Krin or use one of ours!
$30.- (cash, check or credit card)
We will have a Krin waiting for you! It is included in the cost of the workshop! Krins will be on sale too so if you fall in love... you can own one:)
To get more info or to register, please call 781-316-8068 or email us (info@drumconnection.com) that you will attend. Limited to 10. We will send you a registration and confirmation email. You may register online.
